Last year my husband was in the market for a car. Because he has a long commute for work, he wanted to look for a car that was good on gas and mileage. With that being said, I was thinking he would be looking to get a 4-door sedan, seeing that we are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). After a few weeks of looking my husband said he found the perfect car and bought it. To say I was surprised when he pulled into the driveway the first time was an understatement. Instead, I was shocked. Wonder why? Just take a look and keep the thought of a family car in your mind....
Does this look like a family car to you? We had talked about getting a car that was good on gas and mileage, but I didn't think I had to remind him that we needed a back up car in case my car was in the shop and we needed to bring the girls places. I took a look in the backseat and couldn't believe how tiny it was. My husband was running a list of all the pros of the car, and said that the salesperson as the dealership said she could fit two car seats in the back. "Yeah, right" I thought as I looked at my husband. I told him that they will tell him anything just to get a sale.
We grabbed the girls' car seats from my husband's old car that were in the garage and tried to install them. After swapping around car seats from the four we had, we were only able to get one car seat to fit in the car. And, the only way it could be used it when there was no passenger in the front passenger seat and that seat was pulled all the way forward touching the dashboard. But, this wouldn't work because we have two girls. I looked at my husband as I shook my head. And, his response..."At least it wasn't a sports car." I guess I should relieved, right. That is a guy for you.
Thinking that this was a lost cause and that the girls would not be able to ride in this car until they were teens and out of their car seats, I received an email to try out a new car seat alternative, that answered my prayers. Have you heard about mifold grab-and-go booster seats? I hadn't until I had received the email. And, after checking out the website and videos of their grab-and-go booster seats, I was curious to try it out.
"The mifold booster seat provides the freedom of travel with kids. Whether it’s taking a summer road trip with the family, carpooling to baseball or soccer practice, or many other situations you may have, a compact, quick and convenient booster seat is a game changer. It is all you need to transport your kids safely."
I have to admit at first I was a little hesitant as I am used to getting the safest car seats for my girls, and thought that the most expensive and top of the line was best. The mifold grab-and-go booster seat didn't look safe as it didn't have side air protectors or a 5 point harness like the car seats I was used to.
But, I was willing to give it a try and see for myself. And, I am so glad that I did as we love it and it is the best booster seat we have owned and used. :-)
We received the mifold Grab-and-Go Booster Seat right before the Labor Day long weekend, and were ready to give it a try. Unlike the other car seats we have used for the girls, this one was so easy to install...in a matter of minutes. And, if ease of installment wasn't enough, it wasn't bulky or weighed a lot, which were also pluses in my eyes. But, the best part of the mifold grab-and-go booster seat was that it fit in my husband's Mr. Bean car, thus allowing us to transport both our girls in one car trip. When my husband saw this, he gave me a smirk and then followed up with "See, I told you this car would work out!." Argg, don't you hate when your husband gives you that told you so look.
Because I was laid up from an injury, my husband took advantage of his daddy-daughter time and took the girls around town for ice cream, to the playground and for lunches. The girls were so excited to be able to travel in their Daddy's new car, and I was happy that we finally found a solution to his small car dilemma.
Now whenever the weekends roll around, my girls get excited as they know that they will be riding in Daddy's car to gymnastics and for Sunday Daddy-Daughter breakfast. Thanks to the mifold Grab-and-Go booster seat, it has become a win-win in our house. It took two mifold grab-and-go booster seats in the back seat to turn his rinky dink car into a family car, and I get some much needed me-time on the weekends, while the girls enjoy quality time with Daddy in his car. They think it is the coolest little car and love the looks they get when they pull up next to cars at the lights. I, on the other hand, just picture this when I see people looking at my husband's little car. :-)
We have had the mifold grab-and-go booster seat for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it. When we are not using the booster seat in my husband's car, I love how easy it is to grab and hand off to my parents so that they can transport the girls around in their cars when they come to visit. My parents are in love with the mifold grab-and-go booster seat and plan to buy a couple so they can store in their trunks and have on hand when visiting with all the grandkids.
I can't stop raving about these amazing booster seats with family and friends, and even showed them off last week to my girls' old preschool teacher. I showed her how easy it was to use and she thought this was great. Back when the girls were in school, field trips days were so crazy as we had so many car seats and booster seats in the classroom waiting to be installed in the teachers and parents cars to transport all the kids. Just having a handful of these grab-and-go booster seats would have made things so much easier, and take up less space for sure.
